The Industrial Revolution is a period where many important and useful inventions and many useful sources of power were discovered. These things changed the way man does things by making it much easier and faster to do things.One of the most important inventions was the steamship. This ship travels much faster than the normal ship which uses the sail as the steamship can sail anytime and can sail against the wind. With ship traveling faster, more ships came to Singapore to trade which meant that Singapore's trade went up. Communication was also made easier as letter also came faster and the people in Singapore could deliver their documents to the Europeans faster.
Stream was also used to make other machines such as the spinning machines and the steam engine. The production of manufactured goods could now be made faster as in the past everything was done manually. This increased the number of goods that were brought into Singapore which meant that Singapore's trade also increased.
Other inventions such as cars and trains were also built.
